iPad 2

Yes, you are reading this correctly and I know the iPad 2 to many of you is considered as old news now – however I’ve just recently jumped aboard the iPad train and realised what an awesome piece of kit it actually is.

New Gaming/AV Set-Up

Firstly, before I get started with the main post. I just want to say I hope you all had a very merry Christmas yesterday and I wish you all the best for 2012 when it arrives. It’s been a very busy month for me, with an increase in hours at work and trying to sort things out for Christmas, free-time has been very hard to find lately.  As a result of this, I have been a tad AWOL and I will try posting a lot of new stuff when I get the chance. Right, back on topic and please excuse my crappy Blackberry phone camera (it sucks !)…

After using a 22″ BenQ monitor for most of my gaming needs over the last 2-3 years, I have finally upgraded to something a little bigger and better. Due to working quite a lot this month and the fact I’ve been wanting to buy myself a nice flatscreen TV for a good while now, I took the plunge and upgraded my 22″ monitor to this…

LG 42LW650T: 42", Full HD 1080p, Cinema 3D, LEDplus TV

The LG 42LW650T: A 42″, full HD 1080p, cinema 3D, LEDplus TV (so glad there isn’t anymore D’s, B’s, P’s or HD’s involved in the description: ”Yeah I got a..wait for it… a 42 inch full 1080p, HD, 3D, LED, Freeview HD, MP3, USB, DVD, TV” – you get the idea).

But wait theres plenty more…

November News Update

As you could all probably see from the date of my last post, it’s been rather quiet on the news front over on iTech.

There are a couple of reasons behind this…

The motherboard I had in my PC we decided was getting replaced with a new one and so my PC was out of action for a few days. I’m thinking about putting money towards a new PC build early next year, so maxing out the PC I have just now is out of the question. However, the new motherboard we opted for was the ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe which we picked up for under £40. Nice little upgrade from the previous motherboard. The replacement MB was fitted last night, so my computer is back up and running at long last.

I also started a new job at Amazon so have been rather busy with that lately amongst trying to fit in some BF3, MW3 and Skyrim game-time. Skyrim has been dominating though and MW3 pretty much is just collecting dust at the moment.

Posts on iTech will be a lot more frequent now, with more content being added to all sections, as opposed to focusing purely on the gaming section. This doesn’t mean there will be no posts in the gaming section, it means I’m going to try add more into the other sections of the site first. Due to starting a new job I’m planning on scheduling future posts, so that even when I’m not at my PC, content will be published on the site. I’m also hoping to pick up the Hauppage DVR over Christmas so I can get some gameplay/tutorial videos uploaded to the site. Which pretty much means an iTech YouTube channel will be on its way very soon too.

New Next-Gen Offshore Windtech Developement Centre Opens in Scotland

A £12.5 million next-generation wind technology centre was officially opened in Scotland last week by first minister Alex Salmond and Jorge Calvet, the chief executive and chairman of leading international wind-turbine manufacturer Gamesa.

Looking to increase its engineer workforce to 180 after 3 years, the Spanish based company set up its Offshore Wind Technology Centre at Strathclyde business park, just eight miles outside of Glasgow City Centre. The centers sole work focus will be on the design and development of the company’s offshore wind platform (G14X-6/7.0MW).
