EA’s biggest installment of the battlefield franchise, Battlefield 3, opens its doors for public beta testing at the end of the month for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 owners. The beta will begin on the 29th September 2011 until the 10th October, giving gamers over a week of insane online multiplayer action.

Gamers who have the Limited/Tier 1 edition of Medal of Honour or have already pre-ordered the digital PC copy of Battlefield 3 through Origin, will have early access to the beta on the 27th September.

The beta will include one map (Operation Metro) and one game mode (Rush) as opposed to the eight maps and five different game modes which will appear in the final version of the game when it’s released on the 25th October.

Access to the open beta is easy, simply log onto the Xbox Live Marketplace, PS Network or Origin on PC on September 29th to download the beta and your good to go!

Stay tuned for my review of the beta once it closes on October 10th. I’ll see you all on the battlefield, until then enjoy a short multiplayer teaser trailer from E3…

  1. I’ve been playing it all today and I can say that it’s really really good. I love it. It definitely has its share of glitches but I’d expect those to be resolved by the official release.
